Rubber-to-Metal Bonding

The Perfect Engineering Solution

At Gumtec Engineering, we offer in the process of rubber vulcanization onto metal components, creating the ideal combination of the strength and durability of metal with the flexibility and sealing properties of rubber. This unique synergy produces high-quality products designed to withstand loads, vibrations, extreme environments, and continuous pressure – while ensuring long-term performance.

How It Works

Metal Surface Preparation – Each metal part undergoes a thorough cleaning process to remove grease, rust, and contaminants, followed by surface roughening to achieve optimal adhesion.

  1. Primer Coating – A special chemical primer/adhesive is applied, serving as a molecular “bridge” between the rubber and the metal.
  2. Application of Raw Rubber – High-quality rubber compounds are placed around the metal component according to the product requirements.
  3. Heat & Pressure Vulcanization – In advanced molding systems, the rubber undergoes vulcanization – a chemical transformation that makes it flexible, durable, and resilient. Simultaneously, a permanent and robust bond is formed between the rubber and the metal.
